What Is Sharp&Gentle Leadership?

Neuroscience-Driven Negotiation Leadership, which I also call Sharp&Gentle Leadership, is built on one central idea: leadership happens in the brain—under pressure, in conflict, and in negotiation.

Every decision is influenced not only by logic but by stress, emotion, and big time by perception. The ability to lead effectively therefore depends on managing these invisible forces rather than simply issuing instructions and applying logic. From my experience as a neuroscientist and in years of negotiating with administrations and avigating public affairs, I have seen that strong leaders create results by balancing two forces: being clear and assertive on objectives (“sharp”) while remaining empathetic and attentive to people (“gentle”). This balance is what allows leaders to turn tense conversations into constructive outcomes.
